Louis Saia

1925 - 2021

SAIA, Louis passed away at age 96 years young in Palm Harbor, FL on August 26, 2021. "Lou" was born in Denver, CO. and raised in Johnstown, PA. In 1948 Lou married the love of his life Dorothy Dalicandro. They resided in Johnstown, PA. where they started a family and in 1957 moved to Waltham, MA. where he and Dolly remained until they retired to Oldsmar, Florida in 1991. Lou was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and served as a Pharmacist Mate and Medic aboard the AirCraft Carrier USS Cape Esperance in the South Pacific. He worked in many aspects of the sales world and after retiring, volunteered at Chi Chi Rodriguez golf course for 22 years. He was proudly honored with "Volunteer of The Year". Lou's second love after his family was golf and he was talented enough to get two holes in one's in his 80s. Lou was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy after 65 years of marriage; brothers, Vincent Saia of Belleville IL, Samuel Saia of Johnson, PA, and Joseph Saia of Springfield, VA . Lou is survived by his son, Stephen and wife, Rosella; daughter, Cynthia and husband Gary; grandchildren, Eric, Nikki, Ashley, and Chris; and great-grandchildren, Lucy, Jett, Emmie and Parker. He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends. Lou will be remembered for his sharp wit, loving caring nature, diplomacy, and most of all for his love and devotion to his family. Lou will be laid to rest next to his "Dolly" at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Chi Chi Rodriquez golf academy in Clearwater, FL.
