Dear Herrero Family and Tammy,
Dr. Herrero was one of the best. His mind was always on his patients. He kept up with new developments; and while reading a journal came across a new test that immediately caused him to think of me. The test was the best thing to happen to me. Because of it, Dr. Herrero was able to perfect his treatment of me. It was a live saver. I'll always miss our conversations about the medical profession.
Tammy,
You were such an important part of his operations. No body could get overrides taken care like you. You had a real art for it.
I hope that Dr. Herrero is finally at peace.

I only learned today of Dr. Herro's passing. Not only was he my Dr., I considered him a friend.
With his vast medical knowledge he was able to direct me for treatmet of several physical conditions I had as well as my mental adjustment to life. It was just this last weekend that I thought about calling Tammy to see how he was doing. I was a patient for years and moved to Colorado in November.
We will miss him.Our condolence's go out to Jackie and his sons I never had a chance to meet.

He was, simply, the best at what he did. A truly beautiful mind and a heart to match.
As I sat in his "den" and the hour (it was always more) was over, I was amazed each time as he dictated his notes. He had seen and heard everything that had happened and more.
That summation at the end of the session and his "So what's going on" opening, along with his extraordinary style, made Luis Herrero a gem.
We were all lucky to know him.
Jackie and Tammy, we will always admire you both for the caring and professionalism you showed through the years. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Tammy, I am so sorry for your loss. Debbie & I are very appreciative of all that you did to keep things organized and running smoothly. I know how hard it was for you to make all of those phone calls about Dr. Herrero's passing. I wish you well in your next chapter of your career. Take care of yourself and God Bless, Joyce Beasley
Dear Jackie, I am so sorry for all of your pain of losing your husband and I would imagine a great friend. I have a feeling that you were his rock because he was completely there for so many people. I personally thank you for all of your support for Debbie & myself when our lives were in such shambles. You always had encouraging words and made us feel like we were walking into your home and very welcome.
To the children of Dr. Herrero,
I would have loved to meet all of your dad's family. I don't mean to be insensitive at all but I have to chuckle a little as to how it would have been growing up with him. You probably felt like he could read you mind. (he probably could)Anyway, my daughter saw him as a patient and I wish you well in your life's journey. Thank you for sharing your dad with the world.Joyce Beasley
Last, but not least;
Dear Dr. Herrero, I thought many times about writing you a note of appreciation. I regret not following through on that. I have so many things in my life that I am grateful for but you are definately on the top of the list. When we first met you our lives were so uncertain. There were so many questions that you simplified in such a matter of fact way. You truly were the singlemost reason that Debbie has survived and learned so much about herself. God just gave you such a gift in knowing about the brain functioning and the balace of chemicals that changed the lives of so many. You made Debbie and I both feel more like friends coming to visit. The times that I sat in on sessions, I learned about you more in your body language than in your words. Well there were a few bleep bleep's.*@#*(@** We always felt better leaving than we did going. I just love the way you always heard what Debbie was "not saying." You were very good to her, never judging. I know in my heart that you came to love her as a person, and what a blessing. I know you are in a very honorable position in heaven. Debbie is one of the greatest gifts God has given me and I thank you for the honor of knowing you and saving my daughter from a much more complicated life. I hope that God blesses your family with peace that surpasses all understanding. Joyce Beasley

Dear Mrs. Herrero and family (and Tammy, too)
My heart breaks for those of you who had close relationships with Dr. Herrero. But my heart aches, as well, for all the many people he has helped. As the mother of one of those people, I will forever be indepted to him. He was intelligent, educated and caring, but even more he had the ability to step into someone else's pain and to help them find a way back into the sunshine. I will forever be grateful to him and to God for putting him into our lives. It was his care which gave our daughter back to us.

Jacquelyn,
Though we have never met I feel like I know you and Kuki well. Vickie and Hannah have so many times spoken fondly of the two of you. He was very much loved and respected.
His accomplishments are many, but also his persona was unique and wonderful. He seemed to share with Frank an image bigger than life. They both lived life to it's fullest, gave much back, and had such personal strength. I am sorry he is gone, but he will live in your heart, and the hearts of many forever. His was a life very well lived.

Our deepest sympathy to Jackie and the Herrero family.
When I first met Luis 25 years ago, as his patient, I challenged him to cure me or kill me, since that's the level of pain I had endured for too long. He immediately diagnosed me correctly and my family and I are glad he chose to cure me.
He cured me with the right combination of medicine and laughter. I would ask for his last appointment so we could just laugh for over an hour at all of my manic tales and he would tell me that if we could bottle what I had and sell it, we would both be millionaires!
Well Luis I'm sorry to say that there's nothing to bottle since you successfully cured it but I look forward to lying on your couch in the sky and us catching up on the fun times we shared. Sorry jackie for all the times we made you wait outside. God bless you and yours.
