Charles Anthony “Chuck” Doss, 77, of Buford, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Gainesville Hospital.
Chuck was born on December 1, 1947, in Appomattox, Virginia, where he grew up and began a life full of love, hard work, and family.
Throughout his life, Chuck pursued many careers and business adventures, always bringing energy, curiosity, and determination to whatever he set his mind to. After retiring from those ventures, he began a second career as a health care insurance broker. In that role, he was instrumental in helping countless clients navigate their health care options — something he took great pride in and approached with compassion and care.
Chuck was known for his beautiful yard — he took pride in having the greenest grass in the neighborhood. He enjoyed being outside, going for walks, and staying active at the gym. One of his favorite places was the Goodman family farm, where he and his wife Deborah loved to cook for holiday gatherings. His collard greens were a family favorite, and no meal felt complete without them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Goodman Doss of Buford, Georgia; his daughter, Berkley Fain (Lee); and his grandson, Andrew Fain, all of Norcross, Georgia. He also leaves behind his sisters, Gloria Torrence (Larry) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Diane West (Kenneth) of Lynchburg, Virginia, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Douglas Doss and Gertrude Franklin Doss.
A Celebration of Life was held Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 2:30 PM, at the home of Chuck and Deborah Doss, Buford, Georgia.
“He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his warmth, his love of family, and the simple joys he brought into the world.”
