Jones, Nelson H.

99, passed away on November 3, 2025 in Naples, FL. He was born in Tampa Florida on May 22, 1926.

Nelson was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen (Game); son, Dean Jones; and grandson, Devin Eastman. He is survived by his daughters, Leslie Kavanagh (Tim) and Lynne Eastman (Jimmy). Papa was admired, respected and dearly loved by his seven grandchildren, Leah Jones, Graham Jones, Christopher Jones, Cailin Kavanagh, Erin Kavanagh, Jamin Eastman and Megan Eastman. He also leaves behind twelve great grandchildren.

Nelson was a devout Episcopalian, remaining involved in the church throughtout his life, serving in many different roles and was also a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew.

Nelson along with his wife, Mary Ellen, volunteered for many years at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL before retiring to Naples. His many intrests included sailing, gardening, music and travel and those who knew him well will remember that he was a prankster at heart.

He was educated in various schools, both private and military. Following a distinguished military career, he brought his leadership and dedication to the corporate world, serving as a senior director for three major companies before concluding his career at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC), on Andros Island Bahamas. Nelson had a significant impact on those who were lucky enough to know him. He taught his family and those around him, not only through his words but through the grace and integrity with which he lived his life.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at St Mary's Episcopal Church in Bonita Springs, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
