Patrick LOGUE Obituary

LOGUE, Dr. Patrick J.

82, of Belleair, passed away quietly Dec. 17, 2014. Born in Pittsburgh, PA to Dr. William Logue and Grace McCall in 1932, he attended the University of Pittsburgh on a pole vaulting scholarship. While serving the U.S. Army in Germany he met Joyce Giblin. They were married in Basel, Switzerland in 1959. He completed his medical education at Duke Medical School and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard University. In 1968 he came to Clearwater, joining the staff of Morton Plant Hospital where he enjoyed practicing for 35 years. He was an active participant in student athletic programs including Clearwater for Youth where he volunteered his skills as team doctor. He remained an active supporter of Duke University as a member of the Founders Society and president of the Davidson Club for medical alumni. His true passion was sailing which he shared with friends and family. He built memories racing to Mexico, cruising to the Bahamas and exploring the Caribbean islands. Pat is survived by his First Mate Joyce, a crew of seven children and eleven grandchildren: Dr. Michael Logue (wife Donna, children Derek and Taylor) of Deerfield Beach, FL; Mark Logue (fiance Lori) of Belleair Beach, FL; Mathew Logue (wife Laurie, children Riley and Emma) of Gillford, NH; Kristin Cousineau (husband Phillipe, children Patrick, Marc, Nicholas, Shannon) of Clearwater, FL; Luke Logue of Stuart, FL; Debra Ezzell (husband Lee, children Clara Jordan and Logan) of Cary, NC; and Sandra Dorion (husband Timothy, daughter Grace) of Hilton Head, SC; brother, William Logue of Longwood, FL; sister, Kay Eagan of Mechanicsburg, PA; nieces/nephews and a large number of loyal friends and gratefull patients. He makes his final voyage, leaving us with happy memories of a life well lived. A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 3, at 11 am at St. Cecelia's Church, Clearwater.
