To the family of Rene D Carerra, my sincerest condolences to you all! I met Rene at the Shore Colony Condos pool where we both resided. He became a good neighbor and friend to me. Our Spanish heritage bonded our friendship. He was an excellent cook and would invite me and other neighbors over for lunch or dinner. His arroz con pollo was the best! He enjoyed entertaining and was a great host...boy, could he set a table! His artistic ability was evident in how beautifully decorated his condo was. He shared his talent by helping me decorate my own condo, of which I am greatly appreciative. Rene was a magnanimous person who shared his love for fine restaurants, theater, shopping and symphonies with others. I remember when he invited me to Burns and U'lele. Rene and I would often plan luncheons by the pool and invite other neighbors to join in. I miss our interesting conversations and his sense of humor. God Bless my good friend! I am forever grateful for his friendship

Please accept our sincere and deepest sympathy for the loss of Rene. I had the pleasure of meeting him at CTK’s Care Club and later driving him to church each Sunday from Hudson Manor. We enjoyed
his company and stories of Tampa, Ybor City, & West Tampa. He enjoyed singing the hymns and his time in the choir. He was so appreciative of our caring & driving him to church until this past year’s restrictions. We miss him.
May he rest in the presence and peace of our Lord forever.

My condolences to all of Rene's family; he was frat brother whom I met at the University of Tampa and he was an active and contributing member of Theta Chi. I remember him to be an enthusiastic, creative, caring friend; his jest for life was inspiring. Unfortunately, we did not have much opportunity to see one another very often in the last several years but I will miss him and revisit pleasant memories of college life. You can be proud that Rene led a meaningful life despite his health issues later in his life.
