Richard EVERETT Obituary

EVERETT, Richard Day, 81, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 from Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Yonkers, New York and attended Great Neck schools. He graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. After serving in the U.S. Air Force for four years, he received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1958. He began practicing law in Terre Haute, Indiana where he was President of the Bar Association. Richard became a corporate attorney in 1965, serving various corporations before moving to Tampa where he joined Anchor Glass Container Corporation as Vice President/Secretary and General Counsel. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Laurel, two daughters, Lynn Brandon of Houston, Texas and Susan Huecker (Fred) of Louisville, Kentucky, and five grandchildren, Douglas Brandon, Lindsey Jones, Heather Brandon, Breck Jones, and Samantha Huecker. He loved sailing, golf, traveling, and bridge, and was a devoted fan of the University of Michigan football team. He adored his family and loved sharing activities with them. He will be greatly missed by all. Following a family memorial service, friends are invited to a Celebration of Richard's Life on Thursday, January 19th, 2012 at the Everett home, 13609 Clubside Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to LifePath Hospice.
