I am still in a bit of a state of shock, after just learning of Dick's passing, over one year ago. I worked with Dick at NBC in New York City and I can't say enough wonderful things about him. I loved how quick he was to smile and how genuine it was. He was always very eager to tackle tough challenges, sharing his lack of expertise in an honest manner about taking on a particular news assignment while vowing to do his very best, when NBC needed people at the ready during a breaking news story or to fill the duties of an ill co-worker. He never failed to give it his best and he made many of us proud to have him on board. I was personally delighted that a close bond had formed between Dick and the talented and delightful Cathy Straka. A match made in heaven. I am so deeply sorry for the sudden loss of Dick...as a Father, former husband, Uncle, sibling and Husband to Cathy. Know that he was loved by many others and respected as a fine man of great integrity. My thoughts and prayers to Dick's family, friends and neighbors that grieve their loss of someone so beloved to so many people. He impacted my life. My condolences to
Cathy Straka, his beloved wife. I'm sorry I didn't know until now, 9/9/2017. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so deeply sorry, my dear.

We first met in the late 60's at the Lake Placid Club where he worked with his Dad at the Photography Studio. Over the years he gifted me with wonderful photographs he took as well as his beautifully penned letters filled with all his exciting travels and family events. Taylor was the love of his life. He was so proud his beautiful daughter and the lovely person she is. My heart aches that I lost contact with him in what became the last year of his life. Rest In Peace my dear dear friend. Grieving that I just heard of your passing on Christmas Eve. Will keep you always close to my heart.

Really shocked to hear of Dick's passing. He was my supervisor in Media Services at Pinellas County School. Always kind, his work was very creative. His wife Cathy also worked at PCS and my sympathies go out to the family and the many friends he had.

Dick was a fine gentleman and a very dedicated photographer - a very good photographer. Dick was always nice, interested and interesting to talk to - his emails were always uplifting and excellent
we will miss such a fine man as this.

I am a distant cousin of Dick.I first got to know Dick when I was organizing a Richardson-Wolf reunion several years ago and Dick answered a letter I had sent to his mother. At that time we started to have communications regarding geneology pertaining to our families and I got to personally meet Dick and his daughter at the Klinger reunion in 2012. He and my son also communicated regarding our geneology and he met my son in 2013. Dick always sent pictures of his family and his walking experiences. I looked forward to his Christmas cards and letters. Dick was a very special person and I am so sorry for your loss, Cathy,Taylor and family.

Sad and shocking news about Dick. I am a cousin who worked with Dick on our Klingler family history. I had the pleasure of finally meeting him in January while visiting Florida and we talked family history over lunch. Hard to believe this has happened to such a fine person. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
