Bob was responsible for getting me interested in programming. I don't know where I would be if I hadn't taken his entry level programming class and found out how much fun it was.
Thank you, Bob, for the influence you had on the lives of so many people, including myself.

Bob was one of my favorite teachers I ever had the pleasure of meeting. He displayed the perfect balance between work and fun. Bob was alway hanging out with is student and having fun while still holding you accountable for you work. I have brought this "Work hard play hard" attitude into my career which keep me productive and stress free. That is not taught in the textbooks. You will be missed, Bob. Thanks for the lesson.

Bob was a wonderful mentor and a terrific friend. I'm sure I speak for many of his students when I say that he was the most influential professor I ever had. He guided us, pushed us, helped us...and strangest of all, got a bunch of young computer scientists to come out of our shells and be social with each other! I treasure the memories I have of him. He will never be forgotten.

Bob was the most interesting person I have ever known. He enjoyed the challenge and in-turn challenged his students to the fullest extent. I can honestly say that Bob was a large part of defining who I am today. We learned more in one semester with him, than we could have ever learned from just books. I still have the T-shirt that we had made for completing CMPS 383, and I am always asked about Bob (It is never a short story).
He was a teacher, advisor, and mentor to many, but I will always remember him as a friend.
Thank you Bob, for challenging the minds of your students. You will be missed.

Bob meant the world to me and many other people. He was a "father" figure to me, in a time when I really needed one. He is the reason I am who I am today. I will forever be proud to be one of his students, and a part of 383!

Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I always wanted to get back to thank Bob for all the hell he put me through in his classes. I may have complained the whole time, but I learned so much. Bob taught me valuable lessons that I still use every day, lessons not attainable from a book.

When I saw the T-shirt (XXX size) on Bob’s office wall with all students’ signatures and words, I knew Bob must be a wonderful instructor.
I always remember Bob made all CS faculty together and offered me the best seafood (LA crawfish) I ever had.
I missed you.

Bob had the office next to me for years. The student traffic to see him was always heavy. Student and faculty members liked and admired him.
I will miss my friend Bob

Bob was a very creative instructor and one of my most memorable teachers. He challenged us to think and act for ourselves, not to just go with the flow, to think outside the box. He will be missed. My sympathy to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Bob, you were certainly one of the most interesting folks I've had the pleasure to work with. Blustery and opinionated to be sure, but if anyone ever needed help, you'd be the first to lend a hand. I miss our discussions about academia. Here's hoping that you'll be awarded a PhD, posthumously.

Bob was one of my very favorite college instructors. I very much enjoyed his unique personality and his willingness to share his opinions on a variety of subject matter.
