Robert RATCHFORD Obituary
60, was born February 23, 1958 in Tampa to the late Retta Jo Ratchford and Lawrence A. Ratchford, MD, passed away April 30, 2018 in Tampa, after complications from cancer. He was born and raised in Tampa, attending Christ the King School, and then graduating from Jesuit High School in 1976. He was later elected into the Jesuit Hall of Fame. He began his college education at the University of Florida where he joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He subsequently graduated from Loyola University with a BS in Biology. Following graduation, he entered the pharmaceutical industry where he spent over 25 years. Later, he launched his own insurance broker agency, the Charter Insurance Group. A lifelong practicing Roman Catholic and member of Christ the King parish, Andy enjoyed boating, fishing, and golf with his family, as well as all sport related programs associated with Jesuit and the University of Florida. Andy is survived by his companion, Julie Modesitt; his two sons, Andrew and Bob; his four brothers, Larry (Liz) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Joe (Pannada) of Bangkok Thailand, Pat (Caryn) of Tampa, and Tom (Kerry) of Tampa; as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, 11 am, at Christ the King, followed by a reception at Andy's home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jesuit High School, 4701 N. Himes Ave., Tampa, FL 33614, or online at http://www.jesuittampa.org

Andy was a great schoolmate, teammate and fraternity brother. Some of my best memories from Jesuit were from our three years together on the Tiger football team offensive line. To all the Ratchford family you have my condolence . Andy and I spent 4 years next to each other on every football play at Jesuit . We protected Tom for 3 years and went undefeated the last year. He was a man for others. He was my buddy.
