I was the captain of the Tilden High School team in 1960. Ronnie was on that team where he made high school All American. He came to practice every day with a smile on his face and a song to sing. Since he was the co captain they paired us up in drills. That was bad for me as he beat me up every day. But, as I said, he was a gentlemen and picked me up with a smile on his face. I was very sad to hear of his passing and he will forever be a part of my childhood. RIP my friend.

MY husband loved Ronnie like a brother. They were friends in High School and then later in life. Just went on my husband's email and saw the sad news. We kept in touch until he moved to Washington. I am writing this as I haven't told my husband yet. So very sorry we have lost a lovely man of grace. Our love to Harriett and the family, my heart is broken.

Ronnie and I had a special relationship. He was a favorite cousin, with a gift of gab. He once talked to my answering machine for 15 minutes. Knowing my husband, Rodman was a retired Navy man, he always called him "Battleship Commander" I love him dearly and will miss just knowing he was still with us.
