Ronald MILLER Obituary

MILLER, Ronald E., b. 09/29/41, died December 11, 2013 following an unexpected cardiac arrest. He retired as an Associate Director after working 30 years in the IT Department at U.S.F. Tampa to reside in the home he conceptualized and had built on Longboat Key. He is survived by his life partner of 43 years, Robert Hutchinson, M.D. He also leaves behind his mother, Martha, of Emmetsburg, Iowa, two sisters, two brothers, many nieces and nephews, and many longtime friends, especially on Longboat, in Ft Lauderdale, and in Kentucky. Ron was a kind, giving, thoughtful person who treated others as he would want to be treated by them. Likeable, funny, intelligent, handsome, he was a person it was a true pleasure to know. The world was a better place while he was in it. The sorrow of his passing, felt by all who were close to him, will take a very long time to diminish.

My condolences go out to Ron's family. I worked with Ron at USF for nearly 30 years, and we had a special bond since we both came from Iowa. I am shocked by this unfortunate news of Ron's passing.
