Sally, Ronnie was one of the very best Sgts. to work for he took care of his men. And always had a way of keeping his men smiling. Ronnie, wore his hat better than anyone on the job. And served up a pretty good meal, from stillwater Ave.. He will be missed. Ellis Crawford Jr. SPD Ret.

Ron was a great guy. He was not only a good friend, but he was a great policeofficer and one of the best sargents I had the pleasure of working for on the dept. Our sympathy and thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

To the Simonsen family: As a former mayor (during Ron' s service to the City of Stamford), I recall that our men in blue looked up to Ron continuously for leadership and guidance - helping Stamford tto be the safe and well-respected community it has continued to be..It was almost forty years to the day when he and other fine officers, (and firemen), who stood "up front "to protect the community during the West Side riot, as I was returning from Dr. Martin Luther Kings funeral in Georgia.. His buddie, Bob Tymon was shot that night. His mentor, was Ron Simonsen. Bruno Giordano, (mayor, 1967-69)
