Roy Hull

Hull, Roy, 95, beloved lifetime member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, went home to be with the Lord the morning of Saturday, June 21, 2008, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Roy Hull' s grandfather married the daughter of John Robert McDonald, who founded Hopewell in the early 1870' s following his service with the Confederate forces. Roy married Dorothy Starnes in 1933 and they were married 65 years. Roy continued the family business of citrus, farming, and grove caretaking. For many years, Roy and Dorothy operated Hull Groves with their sons, Jim and Don, and grandson, Tom. The Hull Groves fruit stand and shipping business was a gathering place for the community. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Don; and his brother, Dwight. He is survived by one son, Jim Hull and wife, Carolyn; daughter-in-law, Beth Hull; one sister, Donna Jones; four grandchildren, Dottie Miller, Caroline Ray, Tom Hull, and Susie Futch; eight grandchildren, Jake and Joey Miller, Jimmy Rhodes, Kelsey and Dusty Hull, Drew, Brice, Conner, and the late Scott Futch. Funeral services will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Hopewell Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in Old Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florida Baptist Children' s Home, P.O.
