Ryan Joy Obituary
Ryan Craig Joy, 48, of Belleair, Florida, passed away on October 22, 2024.
Born May 25, 1976, in Durham, North Carolina, he was the beloved son of Janice Crisorio Joy and Ronald Craig Joy.
A local graduate of Clearwater High School, Ryan went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Alabama. He dedicated his career to the food industry, serving as Senior Director of Menu Development for Checkers Drive-in Restaurants.
Ryan was a devoted husband to Heather Hovland Joy, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. Ryan and Heather were married on October 23, 2004 and became a proud father of his two sons, Dylan Ryan, 16, and Kellen James, 13.
Ryan is survived by his beloved wife, Heather; sons, Dylan Ryan and Kellen James Joy; parents, Janice and Ronald Craig Joy; sisters, Holly Joy Eakes (Christopher) and Cristi Joy, as well as his nieces and nephews: Garrett, Ava, Isla, and Easton. He was sadly predeceased by his infant daughter, Presley Paige, in 2007.
A true Florida boy, Ryan was an avid boater and a proud member of the Carlouel Yacht Club. He lived life to the fullest, passionately embracing family, friends, food, and fun. Known for his sense of humor, Ryan always had a joke ready to brighten the day.
A receiving of friends and family for Ryan will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774, followed by a celebration of life from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
