Sam CAPITANO Jr.

CAPITANO, Sam, Jr., 90, of Tampa passed away Oct. 22, 2013. Sam was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps. He received his bachelor's degree in education at the University of Tampa and his master's degree in education at the University of Mississippi. Sam retired from teaching in the Hillsborough School system after 25 years of service. He was a past member of the West Tampa Lions Club. He was a member of the Italian Club of Tampa and the Order Sons of Italy in America Nuovo Sicilia Unita Lodge # 1251. Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Friscia Capitano, sisters, Theresa Boyette, Josephine Maida and Mary Loica, brothers, Nick and Alfred Capitano. Survivors include his daughters, Sharon Anello and Susan Rachel (Bert), grandchildren, Richard Anello (Stephanie), Gia Litvak (Ryan), Vincent Anello, Kaitlyn Ostroski and Amy Rachel, great grandsons, Augustino Anello and Samuel Litvak, sisters, Frances McCrum and Angie Bissell and many nieces, nephews and friends. Catholic funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL. Entombment will follow in Myrtle Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 AM until 11 AM at the funeral Home chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice.
