Stephanie DANN Obituary
82, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016, at her home in Tampa. Stephanie was born September 7, 1934 in Wilmington, DE. She attended Western Maryland College and graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. Stephanie taught fourth grade at Brookside Elementary in Newark, DE for 12 years. While teaching at Brookside, she made many lifelong friends with fellow educators. Stephanie married Rodney H. Dann Jr. in 1965. She worked with her husband in the family business, Dann Ocean Towing. The family moved to Tampa in 1977. Mrs. Dann was a member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her family, book club, doting on her African Grey Parrot, Sam, and boating with her husband, son, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George M. Worrilow and Lucy G. Worrilow. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Rodney Dann; son, Stephen Dann (Shannon); grandchildren, Sarah P. Dann and Thomas W. Dann. There will be a visitation from 5-8 pm Friday, January 6, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 7, at 11 am at Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. The interment will be private at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the George M. Worrilow Scholarship Award for the University of Delaware via the university's website: www.udel.edu/alumni-friends/give/. Rodney and Stephen, condolences on Stephanie's passing. I was just looking at the picture at Mom's house in Newark of the 3 kids at Chesapeake Isle (and my Kook-Aid mustache) at Christmas. While Julie and I were young, we still have fond memories of Stephanie as one of the nicest people I've ever met. The Dann family is in our prayers.

It's with great sadness that I express my condolences to the Dann Family. I met with Stephanie every week, and we'd have great conversations together. Our topics would range from food, to fashion, grandchildren, politics and everything in between. Stephanie had a cute sense of humor, and a kind personality. A true lady, that I will miss and always remember.

Rodney ~ So very sorry to hear of your loss. Marsha notified me yesterday. Although it's been years, I have such fond memories of our Newark/Cherry Hill days.
