PETRANDIS, Stephanie Roush Boyd "Cissy" It is with profound sadness, but with joyous and grateful hearts for having known her, that we announce Stephanie "Cissy" Roush Boyd Petrandis passed away on April 16, 2021 after her battle with pancreatic cancer. Cissy was born on February 27, 1946 in St. Petersburg, FL. She was the oldest of three children of Franklin W. Roush, Jr. and Ann Bragg Roush. She spent idyllic childhood summers on her family's farm in Anderson, SC, often accompanied by foreign exchange students who were welcomed and enmeshed in the Roush family household throughout Cissy's youth. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1964, and from Florida State University in 1968, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and was chosen Phi Delta Theta Sweetheart. Her children were raised in Monticello FL, where Cissy carried on the tradition of welcoming foreign exchange students into their home. She was employed with the Jefferson County Clerk of Court and later as office manager at Boyd Family Farms, Inc. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monticello, Monticello Garden Club, Jefferson County Historical Association, Monticello Opera House, and was a contributing supporter/fundraiser to Aucilla Christian Academy. She was a past member of the Tallahassee Junior League, enjoyed travel, playing tennis, walking, and reading, but most especially loved entertaining and cooking with friends and family. Cissy is survived by her beloved husband and soulmate, Jimmy Petrandis; daughter, Suzanne Boyd; and son,s John Boyd and David Boyd (fiance Kelly); grandchildren, Laine and Trace Phipps; and sister, Pamela Roush Gaylor. She is also survived by step-children, George Petrandis, Lee Petrandis, and Lucy Poole; and step-grandchildren, Lindsey and Jordan Poole, and Sophia Petrandis. Her son, Fred Allen "Trace" Boyd III; and her brother, Franklin W. "Bud" Roush III, preceded her in death. One can never forget her vivacious, infectious laugh which not only lit up every room, but added joy to everyone around her. Cissy was kind, helpful, compassionate, accepting, welcoming, unselfish, understanding, loving, and loved by everyone who knew her. The family is holding a Celebration of Life at The Swan House at Woodbrook at 497 Woodbrook Drive, Tallahassee 32312, Thursday, April 22 at 4 pm. I loved Cissy.
She was a bright light, so happy and helpful, so energetic and enthusiastic. My mother, India Linebaugh of Monticello, loved her too, and enjoyed being with her.
I’ll always be grateful for Cissy’s help when my mama was in the nursing home. Cissy, thank you for being in our lives.
