Susan Bashant Obituary
died December 5, 2025, grateful to God for a full life and the family with whom she was blessed. Susan was born November 9, 1945 to Merlin and Kathleen Beckett. She grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Ladycliff College in 1967 with a B.A. in Language Arts. That same year, she married Ron, an Air Force pilot. Over the next 23 years, they criss-crossed the United States to various military bases and raised four wonderful children. Susan taught Language Arts for twelve years at Sacred Hearts Academy in Honolulu, HI and retired in Dunedin in 1999. She enjoyed travel throughout Europe, playing bridge, cooking and reading after retirement. Mostly, she enjoyed holidays, trips and special occasions with her beloved family. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Sommer (Mike); daughters, Kelly (Mark) Webb, Karen Bashant, Stacey (Tim) Papp; and son, Kevin (Maura) Bashant; as well as her grandchildren, Owen, Samantha and Garrett Papp, Makena Bashant and Beckett Bashant. Funeral mass will be said January 3, 2026 at Our Lady of Lourdes. Remembrances to Our Lady of Lourdes or Shriner's Hospital.
