Sylvia Holcomb

HOLCOMB, Sylvia Duarte, 65, lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2003, surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her husband, Hoke S. Holcomb; her mother, Alice Duarte, of Tampa; daughters, Deborah Scibilia and her husband, James of Lutz and Nadina Ferlita of Tampa; sons, T.J. Ferlita and his wife, Gina of Tampa, Tony Ferlita and his wife, Patti of Odessa, Scott Holcomb and his wife, Ceni of Tampa and Grant Holcomb of Tampa; step-daughter, Marsha Rantala and her husband, Richard of Charlotte, North Carolina; step-son, Brad Holcomb of Clearwater, grandchildren, Mallory, Anthony, Austin and Alissa Ferlita, Joseph and Dominic Scibilia, Lindsey and Spencer Holcomb, Caitlin and Lauren Rantala; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Sylvia was a graduate of Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic School, class of 1956. She dedicated her life to being a beloved wife, daughter, mother, and adoring grandmother. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Her four sons and son-in-law will serve as pallbearers as well as her brother-in-law, Jack Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers will be Gaspar and Phillip LoCicero, Sam Leto, Bob and William Valdespino, Joseph Parra and Mike Bilella. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Blount & Curry Funeral Home,605 S. MacDill Ave, with a Catholic Wake Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Brain Tumor Foundation, 414 13th St., Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94612.
