Taft S. Richardson III

December 20, 2008

How do I say goodbye? I keep asking myself. But then I come to realize that you will always be here, your legacy will forever remain in the hearts and souls of all who have sat, met and spoken with you. You are my hero, you was the first to make me know and belive that there is a God, a path that I have been embarking on ever since. So now you have preceded us, into the next life, that life of spiritual reality striving on towards the ultimate goal that each and every one of us are yearning for. We miss you father. He is my father, my hero, my role model and my best friend. YOUR SON HAKIM.

Sug, Junior, Taft...at rest at last. You will be truly missed. You were the brother that I never had. You taught me to dance, to laugh to accept what is inevitable. These tears that I shed are selfish tears. You have achieved the best and been set free...much love!!

Grandaddy, I love you sooo much and I will always miss you. I remember the times when I used to come over to help you out with the arts and crafts and we would always have a nice conversation. You told me that you loved my personality because it reminded you of your mother. I will never forget that. I love you sooooo much and I'll make sure I get my life right with Christ so that I can one day see you again.

POPS EVEN THOUGH IT'S BEEN QUITE SOME TIME SINCE WE'VE LAST SEEN EACH OTHER YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN ON MY MIND AND IN MY HEART. ALL THE TIMES I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU MADE ME REFLECT ON THE THINGS YOU TOLD ME AND HOW YOU GUIDED ME AND VICKI ALONG WITH ALL THE GRANDCHILDREN ON HOW LIFE WOULD COME ABOUT, AND EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMED AS IF WE DIDN'T WANT TO LISTEN TO YOU-WE DID AND YOUR WORDS OF WISDOM WERE NOT SAID IN VAIN-THEY STILL LIVE DEEPLY IMBEDED IN NOT ONLY MY HEAD BUT MY HEART AS WELL. YOUR MEMORY LIVES ON IN ME.

I LOVE YOU

Words cannot express the feelings that over came me when i first heard that you were no longer going to be with us, but instead of being sad I just thought of all the good times and laughs that we shared with each other. Nothing will ever make me forget the memories of you or the way you would chuckle over the phone after telling me a few jokes. I look up to you as well as respect you and all of your accomplishments. I am PROUD and HONORED to say I knew you, I love you and always will.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

From God we come and to Him we shall all return. I never got the chance to meet my grandfather face to face, but from my brief phone conversations and hearing people speak about him, I know that he was a great man with a kind heart towards all who've met him. He will surely be missed. your grandson Abdul Karim.

OUR FATHER, was a man always open for conversations rich in spirit and character, accepting all with a outreached hand.he only wanted to live a simple life encouraging, creative and honest. surrounded by family and loveones eat drink and be merry he would often say also to be sincere in your prayers;he would give his last. not a day went by where he didnt read his bible and he never hesitated to feed anyone. but he made sure you got some spiritual food as well.as we journey through life some of us slip and fall and its predestined that we exist to cease. but we never want to face this day. we all know that our father derserves to go to hea ven;he even brought life to bones and brought laughter to many so we can accept this pain and move on stronger.didnt think time could move so fast many words left unsaid we hold on to the good memories and what youve taught us.our father its so hard to say goodbye so many people love you now that youre free from this world of confusion, pain and suffering, rest in peace...our father. from your son anthony wife mercedez and grandkids anthony jr antwan ali, alisha heather and jennifer

Words are hardly enough to express feelings for one who loved so many, gave so much and taught all he ever met. My dear Brother “Sug,” you have given us your special gifts of love, grace, mercy and wisdom. The world is truly an emptier place without you. With an endowment of skill, artistry and purpose, we are left to remember each and every moment with you in our hearts and our spirits. We will carry you with us always! So, we lift our hands to our Holy Father who created you and brought you into our lives. For it is Him who love you most and we are only beneficiaries of His Love.
