Theresa Capitano Obituary

CAPITANO, Theresa "Tessie," 93, of Tampa, passed away April 26, 2004. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Mrs. Capitano was the co-owner of Metro- politan Pharmacy for 60 years with her late husband of 63 years, James P. Capitano Sr. She was preceded in death by her son, James P. "Sonny" Capitano Jr.; son-in-law, Frank S. Ferreri Sr.; and sister, Caroline Vazquez. Survivors include her loving daughter, Evelyn "Sugie" Ferreri; daughter-in-law, Antoinette Vento Capitano; grandchildren, Sam J. (Donna) Ferreri, Frank S. (Susan) Ferreri Jr., Cathy (Alex) Sanchez, Jimmy (Patty) Capitano, Theresa (Glenn) Fasani and Sam (Dorine) Capitano; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Special thanks to her caregiver, Tanya Ballingar and the staff at University Village Health Care Center for their loving care and attention. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home with entombment to follow in L'Unione Italiana Cemetery. Pallbearers include Sam J. Ferreri, Frank S. Ferreri Jr., Jimmy Capitano III, Sam Capitano, Alex Sanchez, Glenn Fasani, Jennifer and Cristina Ferreri, and Jerry Vazquez. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Capitano, Larry Priede, Salvador LoPresti, Celestino Miranda, Cecil White, Arthur Roby and Dr. Sam Ferreri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute Foundation, Inc., 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612-9497 or the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 N. W. 9th Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494 in memory of Mrs. Capitano. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service at the chapel of GONZALEZ FUNERAL HOME Julio & Adolfo Gonzalez-Roel 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. (813) 931-1833
