Victoria H. DE ANGELIS

DE ANGELIS, Victoria H., died on Wednesday, May 22, 2012, after a long battle with lymphoma. Vicki was born April 15, 1923, to Pasquale and Anna Muglia, raised in South Plainfield, NJ, moving to South Florida in 1975, then to Lake Placid in 1995. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, a sister, and her husband Mario to whom she celebrated fifty five years of marriage. Vicki leaves behind a daughter, Vicki Van Laar (Christian), and a son, Louis DeAngelis (Cynthia). She was the proud grandmother of Salvatore Verini, Mario DeAngelis, and Gina Zamora, and great grandmother of Ashlyn, Michael, Tristan and Cameron. Vicki had numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews she loved dearly. She also had many pets over the years, most recently, her two cats, Baby Boy and Baby Girl. Vicki was always active in her children's school functions as well as Rosary Society, oil painting, ceramics, then, later in life, Red Hatters, and Mah Jong with her loved friends she referred to as the girls. As a first generation child in America, she was especially proud of her D.A.R. Medal for Citizenship she was awarded during her school years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Lake Placid where a celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, with burial to follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid. A private family viewing will take place prior to services. The family could only try to express their gratitude and amazement at the compassionate, spiritual, and warm services provided by Cornerstone Hospice, and the wonderful nurses that cared for Vicki. Fr. Michael from St. James provided blessings for Vicki and was always ready to be there for her both in life as well as death. Her friends were all so supportive, too, especially her dear friend Marge Toussinaut, who visited daily, praying the Rosary and adding untold comfort to all our lives.
