Wayne Harper Obituary

Harper, Wayne Vincent

I sadly announce the passing of the love of my life, Wayne Vincent Harper November 4, 2025, due to complications from a fall. He was predeceased by his parents, Evelyn Huss and Wayne Harper, as well as his brother, Laurence Harper. Wayne was born in Alamogordo, NM, then raised in Depew, NY. He graduated from SUNY Buffalo with undergraduate and graduate degrees. Wayne worked as a medical researcher, then left to go into IT, working for several large companies with COBOL. In his 40's attended John Marshall Law School in Chicago, graduating first in his class. He then worked for Greenberg Traurig some years, then semi-retiring most recently in customer support. Wayne was such a special person, always the smartest in the room, a great wit, fantastic sense of humor and kind person. We were married 27 years. mostly recently attending St Andrews Episcopal church in Tampa. His loves, not a complete list were: hockey, IKEA, shopping, fine dining, foreign films, NYC, travel, museums, collecting art, classic & blues music and bunnies. In addition to his wife, Camille Box, he is survived by his sister Caroline McCarthy of Depew, NY, sister-in-law Joanne Harper of Tequesta, FL, nieces Aimee Murcin (Ron) of Depew, NY, Bethany England (Bob) of Monticello, NY, Rachel Straight (James) of Chatham, NJ and grand nieces and nephew. His last gifts was being an organ donor. Per Wayne's wishes, there will be no services, but a Celebration of Life the first of the year, to be announced. Consequently, donations to The Humane Society and Meals on Wheels will be appreciated.
