Wayne LATIMER

1957 - 2024

LATIMER, Wayne Jeffrey 66, of St. Petersburg, passed over on February 4, 2024 with his sister by his side and surrounded by the love and prayers of family members in St. Anthonys Hospital. He was born on October 21, 1957 in Pittsfield, MA to Lawrence Charles Latimer Jr. and Winifred Gertrude (Dooley) Latimer. He moved to Florida in 1969 with his parents when his father retired at an early age and never left the area. Wayne was the local support system for his mother while she was in Florida. He was predeceased by his parents; his oldest brother, Lawrence C. Latimer III; his children, Tiffany, Michelle, Lawrence C. IV, Eric and Charissa; and Andrea Bouchard, who was the daughter of his brother, John Thomas Latimer, who resides in Naples, FL. Although never married, Wayne had three passions in life, family, restoring classic cars and the fireworks on July 4th every year. If you wanted a professional vehicle restoration, you would call Wayne as his dedication to detail and quality was top notch. He was a mentor to his nephew, Scott L Trumble, who is carrying on his legacy. Anyone who knew him well knew that he pursued the technology of achieving the best sound quality possible when listening to music and watching movies, and later on concentrating on achieving the best flavor when cooking with following the best chefs available. Survivors include his brother, John Thomas Latimer of Naples, FL; his sister, Judith Trumble of Dalton, MA; John Latimer, and Sarah and Alyssa, Tampa, FL, Scott L. Trumble, Peru, MA and Tammy (Trumble) Orehek, Ambler, PA. Celebration of Life Service will be held at Wayne's house at 5718 Lee St. NE, St Petersburg, FL on July 4 and starts at 4 pm and fireworks start at dusk. July 4th was Wayne's favorite family get together and was known for his fireworks display every year. This year, Scott Trumble, will be following the yearly tradition as a memorial celebration for Wayne, who has been his mentor and continuing his legacy in autobody, restoration, and painting. Cemetery Service will be held at a later date in Pittsfield, MA.
