Edward Arcikowski Obituary

Edward A. Arcikowski, husband for 56 years of Patricia (Rafter) Arcikowski, passed away Sept. 1, 2015, at the age of 83, in his home, surrounded be his loving family. He was born in Taunton, son of the late John and Sophie ( Brezinski) Arcikowski. Edward was a proud grad uate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He also graduated with a Masters Degree from Bridgewater State College and also from Union College with a Masters in Math. Edward worked in the field of Education serving a principle of South Middle School in Braintree. He served as a Lt Jg. in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS Henrico Amphibious Attack Transport APA 45. Besides his wife Patricia, he is survived by his children: Edward A. Arcikowski and his wife Kathy, Stephen Arcikowski, Diane Maki and her husband Jyrki. He is the brother of Jean Qualters of Mount Pleasant, SC. His beloved grandchildren are Samuel and Joshua Arcikowski and Jessica and Annika Maki. His grandchildren Samuel and Annika with play Taps. At the request of his family Visiting Hours are omitted and the interment services will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Rosary Church, 80 Bay Street, Taunton on Friday, September 4, 2015. The Sowiecki Funeral Home, 69 Bay Street, Taunton is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Mr. Arcikowski was a wonderful teacher. I had him when I was a senior at Braintree High School, 1965/66. We affectionately referred to him as "Archie."
