On the morning of Wednesday, June 8, 2022, Albert "Al" Knight Dunlap III died unexpectedly at the age of 59.

He was a beloved Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and Nursing Colleague.

Al was born in Redondo Beach, CA to Marolyn Dunlap and Albert Dunlap II. Raised in Manhattan Beach, he graduated from Aviation High school. He attended California, State University, Humboldt receiving a Bachelor of Art in Political Science. He also attended Western Governors University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Al worked as an ICU nurse at Torrance Memorial Medical Center and per diem at Kaiser Permanente Harbor City. At Torrance Memorial, he met the love of his life Lourdes "LuLu" Dunlap.
Al loved to travel the world with Lulu. His favorite place was Spain, admiring La Sagrada Famila Basilica in Barcelona. When they were not traveling, Al was on the golf course, eating at Michelin Star restaurants, shopping with Lulu, and going to plays and concerts. Al was an avid sports fan. His favorite sports teams includes Raiders, Lakers, Kings and Dodgers. Al is one of a kind- known for his unique sense of humor, spot on impressions of people and his unique talent for making everyone feel welcomed, loved and special.
Al is preceded in death by his father, Albert Dunlap II and his mother, Marolyn Dunlap. He is survived by his wife Lourdes Dunlap; mother-in-law Lourdes Velasquez; brother-in-law Miguel Orihuela; sister-in-laws: Ana, Mapi, and Isabel Orihuela; sister Bonnie Luhrs; nephew Derek and his wife, Nicole San Agustin, grandnephews, Colt and Brooks San Agustin and niece Madison Luhrs.
Visitation, Viewing & Memorial services were held @ Rice Center Mortuary, Torrance CA on June 16th and 17th, 2022. Al's graveside burial service was held on Friday afternoon, June 17th at Pacific Crest Cemetery, 2701 182nd Street, Redondo Beach CA.
He will be greatly missed, truly an irreplaceable person.

As a former dialysis RN at TMMC, I loved dialyzing Al´s patients. He was so funny and full of life. We had so much fun teasing each other. My utmost condolences to his family

Cousin Albert will be missed greatly by all who have crossed his path. He was an exceptional person, and although our conversations were via telephone, I will cherish the times we had together. My condolences to Lulu and her family.
