Anthony Sarno

Anthony Sarno, 89, of Hobe Sound died Sept. 7, 2012, at his residence. Born in Central Islip, N.Y., he moved to Hobe Sound in May 1980, coming from Islip, N.Y. He was an overhead lineman, retiring from Long Island Lighting Company after 34 years. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and had been an usher there. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Frances Sarno of Hobe Sound; daughter, Catherine A. Sarno; son, William Sarno; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Michael and Peter; and sisters, Mary and Madeline. Services: A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 20 at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Forest Hills Funeral Homes-Young and Prill Chapel.
