Buddy Brooks Obituary

Buddy Brooks, 84, died Aug. 1, 2010, at Palm City Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born in Albee, Ala., and lived in Fort Pierce for 40 years, coming from Alabama. He retired from his job at a Chrysler dealership. He served in the Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Sylvester Clark Post 176. Survivors include his son, Malcolm Brooks of Port Salerno; stepson, Cleveland Brooks Tyson of Stuart; daughters, Judy Brooks of West Palm Beach, Valeria Brooks of Gautier, Miss., Charlene Brooks of Fort Pierce and Fernadene Brooks of Bonita Springs; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert L. Brooks; four brothers; and two sisters. Services: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 5 and 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 6 at Sarah's Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 6 at Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Roberts, officiating. A guestbook is available at sarahsmemorial.com.
