DAVID E. "MR. DAVE" EVANS On May 23rd 2013, David Evans was called home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ. Born in Bowling Green, Florida , he spent his youth in rural Central Florida along with suburbs of Tampa and Miami. As a young adult, Dave moved to Okeechobee where his interest in electronics prompted him to open a television repair shop with his lifelong friend and cousin William "Doc" Anderson. Later relocating to Ft. Pierce he partnered with the late Jack Sizemore of Sizemore's TV as the first provider of residential satellite dishes in St. Lucie County. In 1967 Dave, with the help of his late wife LaGracia Evans began his 40+ year relationship with Motorola Inc, as Daves Communications. He provided communications hardware, repair and service throughout St. Lucie, Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee counties to various health institutions, government entities, emergency operation providers, business owners and the private sector. Daves Communications Services would include but not be limited to communications towers, two way radios, computer consoles, cellular telephones and of course, "Dave's Pager Express" his extensive paging network connecting beeper patrons throughout the state. Over the span of his career at the helm of Dave's Communications, he was endeared to many as "Mr. Dave"; known for his authentic smile and superior service and products delivered with steadfast integrity. Originally a family business, over the years Dave's Communications employed hundreds of Treasure Coast residents; relatives, friends and strangers alike<$>everyone knew "Mr. Dave" was willing to go that extra mile or lend a "hand up" to all who crossed his path. In years past, Dave served on the St. Lucie County Fair board, donated the use of two way radios to many local organizations and charitable events, enjoyed fly fishing, remote controlled boats and airplanes, repairing violins and tinkering with countless projects in the "back room" of his shop in Ft. Pierce. If a topic interested him, he'd research a book to fully acquaint himself with every detail. However, those close to him, knew his passion- Bluegrass Music-was what really made his heart beat. Many a bluegrass festival saw Dave in attendance! Dave is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 18 years of Ft. Pierce; sons Roy S. Evans (Karen); Michael K. Evans of Ft. Pierce, and daughter Carole L. Brown (Tony) of Lakewood Park. Stepsons David Simpson (Donna) and Jacob Simpson(Amy) of Port St. Lucie. Beloved cousins Carole and Doc Anderson of Okeechobee.
