G. Messina Obituary

G. Thomas Messina, 92, died Dec, 19, 2008, at the Treasure Coast Hospice Residence, Fort Pierce. He was born in Easton, Pa., and lived in Port St. Lucie for 35 years, coming from Dix Hills, N.Y. Before retirement, he was co-owner of the Deer Park Macaroni and Ravioli Co. in Deer Park, N.Y. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member and 3rd degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus Chapter 7514 and a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church, both in Port St. Lucie. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Antonina "Lena" Messina of Port St. Lucie. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, 5201 Blue Lagoon Drive, Miami, FL. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 28 at Forest Hills-Byrd Young and Prill Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Dec. 29 at St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City. A guest book may be signed at foresthillsfunerals.com.
