Gordon Craig Obituary

Gordon Craig

Stuart, FL

It is with sadness and at the same time great joy that I can tell you that Gordon Craig, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, went to be with our Lord on October 22, 2017. After a courageous battle, he passed away in total peace. His bravery and great strength these last few months have made us remember how truly blessed we were to have him in our lives. His profound faith in God's grace was inspirational. It is with a prayer of thanksgiving and gratitude for all of God's blessings that we ask you remember Gordon.

Mr. Craig was born 89 years ago in Miami, FL. He grew up in Miami and became an engineering contractor and for 29 years operated his own business, Gordon D. Craig, Inc. He retired in 1976. He and his wife Mary lived in Ocala for 5 years before moving to Stuart, FL in 1981 where he built a home in North River Shores.

He was a born again Christian and a student of God's Word. He would preach the gospel of the grace of God (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) to people whenever possible. Mr. Craig was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Stuart, FL for several years.

He is survived by his wife Mary, his twin sister Gloria Craig; two sons, Michael Craig and wife Jennie of Stuart, FL; Steven Craig of Orlando, FL; three daughters, Susan Morris and husband Bill of Belleview, FL; Cynthia Chavez of Cary, NC; and Julie Craig of Jensen Beach, FL. Mr. Craig has 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 2:00PM-4:00PM with a memorial service to begin at 3:00PM at Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach, FL.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Treasure Coast Hospice at www.treasurehealth.org

Mrs. Craig. Michael, Stevie, Susie, Cindy and Julie, I have been searching for you on face book for years. Finally, I decided to search your father. Lo and behold I found his obituary. I remember him well. If you recall, I was a friend of Julie's back in the day. Your father was a great figure in my life. He was such a nice man. I know he and your mom spoiled Julie as she was the youngest. Your mom and dad used to walk to Grants at least once a week for ice cream. I know you were all Christians. I hope the best for you. I know your dad is in heaven with both of my parents. My mom passed in '04 and my dad in 2011. We were lucky to have them for as long as we did. God Bless. Please tell you mom hello from Peggy McGinnity.

My dearest sympathy goes out to the Craig family. May the god of all comfort strengthen the entire family during this time of sorrow. Keep in mind that God keeps in his memory those whom we lose because they are precious in his eyes (Psalms 116:15)
