Herbert Dillon Obituary

HERBERT J. DILLON For the Dillon family of Jensen Beach, Las Vegas and New Jersey, the saddest day of our lives occurred on August 30, 2006. On this day we sent to heaven, a beautiful, nearly perfect, man. A man who forever touched, and made better, every person who knew him. Herb Dillon, at 73, succumbed to heart failure at home, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. The loss of this man will be felt across the country by family and friends whose lives he touched with lasting love. Herb was born in New Jersey and attended schools in Weehawken. He was an outstanding athlete and was a star basketball player for Weehawken H.S., achieving all-county and all-state honors. He went on to play for the Army team as he served his country in Germany. He graduated from St. Peter's College in Jersey City and became a CPA in 1961. His clients became friends and those friendships became extended family to this day. Although quiet and unassuming, his presence was always felt. He was revered and respected, but mostly just loved for the honest and faithful person he was. He was trusted by everyone and was the person to whom you turned for the best advice and direction. You could always depend on Herb to offer the right road to the best result. To continue his legacy, he leaves behind his wife, Pat; his sons, Jeff and Gary, of Jensen Beach; his grandsons, J.C., Kyle and Zachary; and his daughter in law, Jackie, of NJ; his beloved sisters, Patti Russell and Denise Febles and their husband, Keith and Joe; and his beloved brother, Jimmy and his wife Barbara; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2006 from 11 AM -1:304 PM & 4-6 PM, with a service at 6 PM at Aycock Funeral Home, 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd., Jensen Beach 334-1200. Immediately following the services, friends are invited to continue the celebration of Herbert's life at Bay Tree. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, please just come to share your love and favorite memory of Herb, and, if you choose, donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospices, 10360 S. Federal Hwy., Port St. Lucie, FL 34952, in his name.

We all know how much Herb has touched everyones lives. He was the older brother I never had, my buddy. He has left us but the lasting memories will never be forgotten. I know you needed to leave us now but am sure you will be looking down and still guiding us, just like you always did.

Love, Janet

Herb was a wonderful man with a great outlook on life. I always enjoyed our "friendly" wagers on Sunday's football games. I hope Herb knows that he will forever be remembered and loved by us. God Bless!
