Palm City, FL
Sgt. Jonathan "Jon" Vincent Collins, 27, passed away on July 20, 2018 in New York.
Born in Stuart, FL, Jon was a resident of Palm City, FL and graduated from Treasure Coast High School, where he was part of the varsity swim team and homecoming court.
He was Sergeant in the
United States Army and gave 7 years of service to our country, which included a tour in Afghanistan as a combat medic.
Jon had a heart of gold and would put everything aside at a moment's notice to help anyone in need. Whether he was collecting and distributing toys to underprivileged children or supporting the local breast cancer organization, Jonathan will always be remembered for his kind and loving heart.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Valerie Collins; father, Lance Collins; grandmother; Thelma M Collins; his uncles and aunts, Patrick & Janice Donnelly, Larry & Nancy Schilder; Terri & Sam Steinhauer, and Kriste & Bob Ashley; his cousins, Alexis, Jessica, Mandy, Robert, Kristen, Stephanie, Joshua, Seth, Kayla and Tyler and his extensive network of friends that are more like family that span across the world.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Judith Schilder, and grandfather, Neil A Collins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 12:00PM-1:00PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Stuart with a funeral service to begin at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL.
