Leon B.W. "Rusty" Menzel

Leona B.W. "Rusty" Menzel, 75, died March 27, 2010, at Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart. She was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., and lived in Hobe Sound since 1982, coming from Trumbull, Conn. Before retirement, she was the owner of Carousel Flower Shop and Charming Design, both in Stuart. She attained a life master status in bridge and played USTA tennis. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hobe Sound. Survivors include her husband, Richard Menzel of Hobe Sound and Chester, N.J.; son, William F. Weckman of Naugatuck, Conn; daughter, Lisa W. Orr of Prospect, Conn.; stepdaughters, Lynn Inlow of Oley, Pa., and Lee Ann Hanson of Bozeman, Mont.; stepson, Richard I. Menzel Jr. of Chester; brother, Leonard J. Baker of Rhode Island; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rolf Weckman. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997. SERVICES: A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. March 31 at First United Methodist Church of Hobe Sound. Inurnment will be at a later date at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
