My deepest sympathy to Paulette, family, and employees. Since I do not get the newspaper, I just learned today. My heart is so sorrowful as he was a wonderful person to everyone including his customers. He was so kind to me always. Rest in Peace, and may the Lord help your family in their sorrow.

Our community was fortunate that Lothar and Paulette chose Vero Beach to relocate their business in 1963. They are the image of kindness and goodness. Lothar was a member of the Rotary Club for 35 years; Rotary's moto is "Service Above Self", which Lothar exemplified. We will miss him a great deal, but his legacy at Zeran Jewelry Store is assured with his three children there to carry on a great tradition.

Mr. Zeran (he was not "Lothar" to me) sold me (well, sold my parents) my wife's engagement ring. That was 41 years ago and she is still wearing it. We think it particularly beautiful.
Somehow it was evident to me that Mr. Zeran was a "straight shooter" who could be trusted on product and price. The world agreed.

I loved ♥ Mr.Lothar Zeran and his whole family Paulette, Heidi, Heather and Kurt. My deepest condolences to all of you. Zeran Jewelers give me my first job in USA and my last conversation with Lothar was last year ago when he asked me " did you earn your first Million Dollars yet ?" and his son Kurt answered for me by saying "she is working on second Million Dollars " ...he was always a cheerful joker. The highlight of my trips to Vero were to go to Zeran's and see Lothar and Paulette! Randy once asked Lothar why jewelry was so expensive and he responded with "it's the profit" followed by his robust laugh! My favorite pieces of jewelry are from Zeran's, this includes my wedding band! Lothar will be missed by many as he and Paulette were pillars of Vero.

Lothar was an amazing man. Being in business right next door to him, I had the honor to get to know a different side of him. When I first met him, he appeared to be gruff - but then that contagious laugh roared out of him. He had a laugh that made everyone laugh. There were times I'd hear him laughing through the walls and even if I was with a patient - I couldn't help but smile and sometimes giggle myself because of his laugh. He was honest, hard working, loyal and the world will be shy a authentic, devoted and dedicated man. He will be missed by all who knew him. My heart goes to all his family for their loss.
