Margaret E. Battaglia, 90, of Nashville, TN passed away quietly on September 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by her children.

Born October 10, 1927 in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of Rocco M. Nittoli, MD and Elizabeth Nugent Nittoli.

Margie graduated from Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth and attended nursing school at the Elizabeth General Hospital where she served as a nurse cadet during WWII and on the nursing staff at the Elizabeth General Hospital, where she met her future husband, Dr. Richard S. Battaglia, OB/GYN. They married in October 1947 and continued to live in NJ with their three children.

In 1972, Margie and her husband moved to Port St. Lucie, Fl where she worked for Drs. Harrell, Hewson and Holder as office manager for 14 years. She then worked for Heidi Mcnaney Flint & Dr. Kent Clouser for another 6 years.

Margie, partnering with her son-in-law Jack McAndrew, owned Jake's Restaurant in Stuart, Fl, and Max & Meg's Restaurant in Fort Pierce, Fl.

Her children, daughter Peggy McAndrew, son Richard Battaglia and his wife Dana Battaglia and son Robert Battaglia survive Margie. Her sister Jeanne Bruno, her husband Dr. Anthony Bruno, 9 nieces and 6 nephews also survive her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard S. Battaglia, her sisters Gloria Coyne and Agnes Kohler and their husbands, Joseph Coyne and George Kohler, her brother Edward Nittoli and his wife Quig Nittoli, and son-in-law, John P. McAndrew

A memorial ceremony will be held on October 12, 2018 at St. Lucie Catholic Church, 280 SW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St. Lucie, Fl 34983 at 11:00 a.m.
