Raymond Cody Obituary

Raymond John Cody, 75, of Heritage Plantation, Vero Beach, died Dec. 5, 2006, at his home. He was born in Providence, R.I., and moved to Vero Beach in 1999 from Pawtucket, R.I. Before retirement, he was a firefighter for the City of Pawtucket. He was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, the Rhode Island State Firefighter's Association, and the Elks and Moose Lodge in Rhode Island. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ileen Reilly Cody of Vero Beach; five sons, Raymond J. Cody Jr., of Vero Beach, Daniel Cody of Navarre; Glenn Cody, of Vero Beach, Timothy Cody, of West Warwick, R.I., and Kelly Cody of Cranston, R.I.; daughter, Patricia Sylvia of Apopka; two sisters, Lorraine Almy of Warwick, R.I., and Eleanor Martin of East Providence, R.I.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105. SERVICES: A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Jan. 4 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Inurnment will be at the South Florida Veteran's Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach. A guest book may be signed at www.seawindsfh.com/ obit.php.
