Robert Dusek Obituary

Robert Martin Dusek, 78, died Feb. 15, 2008, at Palm City Nursing and Restorative Care in Palm City. He was born in Chicago and lived in Stuart for 18 months, coming from Chicago. Before retirement, he worked in sales for National Creative Merchandising and Gulnick Advertising in Fort Lauderdale. He was founder/president of Co-Ordinated Graphics Agency and handled advertising for Valley Shopping Center in St. Charles, Ill. He served in the Army Reserve. He was a former member of St. John Newman Catholic Church in St. Charles, Ill., and St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva, Ill. He belonged to Playmakers in St. Charles and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Skokie, Ill. He volunteered as a coach for Junior Football and Basketball in Geneva and volunteered at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. He graduated from Tilden High School and attended University of Illinois and Northwestern University, both in Chicago. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jone M. Dusek of Stuart; son, Mark Dusek of Miami; daughter, LeeAnn Carlson of San Antonio; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Dusek; and sisters, Libbie Laurino and Mildred Haskins. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospices Inc., 1602 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997. SERVICES: A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. March 1 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Stuart. A celebration of life services will be in Illinois at a later date. Arrangements are by Young and Prill Funeral Home-Stuart Chapel. A guest book may be signed at www.youngandprill.com.
