Robert William Gable

WILLIAM ROBERT GABLE Gable, Robert William passed away on February 1, 2012, after 91 years of a glorious life. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Bob was born in Ft. Morgan, CO. on Nov. 8, 1920 to William Edward and Emma Wendelin Gable. He spent most of his youth in Scotts Bluff, NE and served two years in the Nebraska National Guard before moving to Miami in 1941. He met his wife of 54 years, Gwendolyn Mae Campbell, when they both worked at Woolworth's Department store in Miami. Bob served three years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an airline executive with National Airlines for 35 years and with British West Indies Airways for 13 years. Bob and Gwen spent many happy summer days on the beaches of Sanibel Island. After Gwen passed away in 1996, Bob moved to King's Isle in Port St. Lucie. In addition to his love of cats, Bob was an astronomy buff, computer whiz and enjoyed tennis and bowling. He is survived by his four daughters, Sandra Lee Gable in Austin, TX, Jacqueline Gable Kurt (Dan) in Pompano Beach, FL, Cheryl Gable Stebbins (Bill) in Howell, MI and Janet Gable DiFranco (Sonny) in Smithville, TX. Bob has three grandchildren, Belinda Zeh in West Virginia, Victor Zeh (Tanya) in upstate NY and Daniel Stebbins in Howell, MI. He also has three great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Benjamin and Abigail Zeh in NY. Donations may be made in Bob's honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at www.alzfdn.org. paid obituary
