Robert Nelson Zeigler, 88, passed March 1, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Newark, NJ on December 16, 1929. He was raised in Nutley, NJ where he met his sweetheart, Frances Toth. They were married for 66 years. He served in the Navy for 4 years during the Korean War then worked for 40 years in Bell Laboratories in Whippany followed by Holmdel.
He lived in Lincroft, where he raised his two daughters Bonnie and Robyn. For many years he split his retirement between Manchester, NJ and Stuart, FL before he permanently moved to Florida. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gramp is missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Frances Zeigler, his daughters Bonnie Zeigler of Whiting, NJ and Robyn & Timothy Kennedy of Rumson, NJ. Grandson Timothy Kennedy Jr. and wife Katherine and their two children of West Caldwell, NJ. Grandson Douglas Kennedy of Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Granddaughter Pamela Kennedy of Rumson, NJ.
At his request, there will be no public visiting hours or funeral services.
