Connie VanDyke Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Connie Kim Van Dyke on November 23, 2025, at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington.

Connie was born on November 11, 1957, in Nadi, Fiji, where she grew up in a large and loving family of 6 brothers and 2 sisters. She was a devoted daughter, sister, auntie, and mother. She moved to Seattle in 1982 and built her life in Washington State. Over the years, Connie formed many lasting friendships. She had a natural way of connecting with people, and those relationships were an important part of her life.

At 25, she began building a life in Washington rooted in faith, resilience, and deep love for family. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her sons, Jon and Josh. She worked hard to give them the best of herself-her guidance, her love, and the strong foundation she hoped would carry them through life.

Connie's faith shaped the way she treated people-with compassion, sincerity, and an open heart. Even in challenging times, she remained positive and focused on the people she loved. She will be remembered for her independence, her kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Connie is survived by her beloved sons, Jon and Josh; her mother in Nadi, Fiji; and her extended family across Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States. They will carry her love with them always. Though she is no longer with us, we find comfort knowing she is at peace and watching over the sons she adored.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Point Defiance Pagoda, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Fircrest Christian Church of Hope in her memory.

Forever loved and deeply missed.
