Daniel Bean Obituary

Daniel Bean, 61, passed away unexpectedly November 28, 2025 of natural causes. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and mentor, he was the steady heart of his family and a guiding force in the lives of countless people.

He chose a life of service and compassion. He started his career as an officer in Callahan County, wanting to make a difference he dedicated the majority of his career years to mentoring youth in the juvenile system of Cowlitz County, providing warmth and inspiration, many returned later to thank him for his impact. Finalizing his career at the Port as the Superintendent, where he also proudly made contributions to the safety and beauty of the Willow Grove Park as a new way to serve the community. He enjoyed walking the park with his dogs and his wife, connecting with others.

A humble man, he never spoke of his contributions. He silently just did for others.

He is survived by his wife and three daughters. His legacy of compassion, service, and strength will live on in all who knew him.

We were looking forward to his retirement at Willow Grove Park this summer. A celebration of life and recognition will be held at Willow Grove Park. Details will be announced later.

I worked with Dan back in late 80´s early 90´s. We were both working with youth. Dan was a good guy. He will be missed.

We were the first hosts at Willow Grove Park under Dan. He was the kindest, most genuine person that we ever had the pleasure of getting to know! He would stop in for coffee, homemade cookies & homemade rolls! He always had a sense for knowing when I was baking! He will be truly missed by many. RIP, Dan! Jim & I extend our deepest condolences to his family & many friends!
