With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edwin "Eddie" Newberg at the age of 51. Eddie was kind-hearted and had a gentle soul. He never met a stranger and made dear friends wherever he went. He was not fazed by social status and had a gift for making friends from every walk of life. To know him was to feel welcomed and valued. He found special joy in the companionship of his beloved dogs.
He had a brilliant, curious mind and was a lifelong learner. Eddie was happiest when he was snowboarding on the mountain, on Afognak Island in Alaska, or in the Caribbean waters.
Eddie leaves behind his mother and stepfather, Linda and Jerry Munsey; daughters, Kaylee Newberg and Liliana Newberg; siblings, Christy (Ray), Amanda (Zev), Jake (Alecia), and Anna (Scott); several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; special aunts, Debbie (Pat) Richards and Claralee (Alex) Rohwedder; stepmother, Barbara Newberg; and lastly, his beloved dog, Felony.
A celebration of life will be held on March 14, 2026, from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Women's Club Building, 835 21st Avenue, Longview, WA. All are welcome.
