Gladys DuPuis Obituary

Gladys Marie DuPuis, 90, of Birkenfeld, Ore., passed away Feb. 18, 2009.

She was born May 6, 1918, in Bay City, Ore., to William and Edith Provost. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Tillamook, Ore., in 1936.

Gladys married Robert "Bob" DuPuis March 22, 1944, in Vancouver. In 1945 they moved to a farm near Birkenfeld and in 1959 to another farm in Birkenfeld.

Gladys, a homemaker, cherished time with her grandchildren. She liked family gatherings, ceramics, knitting, crocheting and flowers - especially dahlias.

She is survived by her husband; two children and their spouses, Cathy and James Jerol Moran and William "Bill" and Lorena DuPuis; her grandchildren, Robert "Rob" Moran, his wife, Jeanie and their children, Mariah and Maxwell, Michael Moran and Ashley DuPuis; and her nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Earl and David; and her longtime Tillamook friend, Mabel.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clatskanie. Interment will take place at Fishhawk Cemetery near Birkenfeld.

Donations may be made in Gladys' name to the Mist Birkenfeld Rural Fire Department or the Hospice Care Center.

Groulx Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
