Harriett DePriest Obituary

Harriett DePriest

August 25, 1926 - March 31, 2025

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Harriett DePriest, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 98 after a short illness. Born to Jack and Matie (Budlong) Satterlee August 25, 1926, Harriett was the heart and soul of our family. She was always there when we needed her the most offering unwavering support, wisdom, and love.

She raised four children Mark (Lydia), David (Janell), and Rick in a happy and loving home. Her son, Donald, preceded her in death in 1968. Harriett was married for 65 years to her soulmate, Dean, who also preceded her in death.

As a grandmother to Monica, Megan, Kyle, Evan, Allison, Christine and Julia, Grandma Harriet was the ultimate supporter attending their sporting events, theater, and musical productions. She was also a proud great-grandmother of five girls.

Harriett worked as a dedicated school secretary for many years touching the lives of countless students and staff with her kindness and efficiency.

Known for her kind heart she loved playing cards and games with many of the friends she made throughout life. Her presence brought joy to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

A service to celebrate Harriett's life will be held late later this spring.
