Patricia Miller Obituary
Patricia "Pat" Miller, a 31-year resident of Castle Rock, WA, died peacefully in her sleep on August 30, 2025, in Oxnard, California. She was 93. For the past four years, Pat made her home in Oxnard to be close to her four sons and a granddaughter, wrapping her days in family and sunshine.
Born in Seattle, WA, on April 17, 1932, Pat brought integrity and energy to every community she touched. In Castle Rock, she was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she welcomed parishioners as an usher and greeter and found lasting friendship in her community.
A gifted craftsperson, Pat loved designing and making stained glass windows. One of her pieces graces Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Castle Rock, a luminous reflection of her patience, eye for color, and joy in creating beauty for others to share. She cherished the Castle Rock / Longview community, gave her time to Youth and Family Link services at the Toutle Ranch Thrift Shop in Longview, and served for many years as a ballot counter at the elections office - faithful work that fit her sense of duty and care for her neighbors.
Pat is survived by her four sons-Steve, Tom (wife Liz Herring; stepdaughter Elisha Herring), Jeff, and Greg-as well as her grandchildren Tyler, Elisha, and Sabrina. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Richard ("Dick") Miller, who passed away in 2021.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Castle Rock on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. A brief dedication will follow at Tower Road Cemetery, with a light lunch reception afterward in the church community hall.
Pat's family and friends will remember her for the warmth of her welcome, the light of her stained glass, and the enthusiasm with which she served her church and community. May she rest in peace.
