Robert Powell Obituary

Robert E. Powell passed away peacefully in Longview, WA on October 28th, 2025 at the age of 93.

He was born on April 3, 1932 to Ortis and Bertha (Ketchum) Powell in Onalaska, WA and grew up with his brother Richard. At age two, the family moved to Longview where he played football and basketball at R.A.Long and graduated in 1951. That same year he married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Morehouse. They shared nearly 74 years of marriage.

In 1953, Bob started as a lube man at Mason Motors. Through hard work, he became service manager and a stock holder of what would later become Columbia Ford. He spent most of his years as service manager at Columbia Ford before retiring in 2003.

Bob was a proud member of the White Earth Tribe of the Chippewa Nation. He belonged to Longview Elks and Longview Pioneer Lions during his life.

Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing and took his sons on many successful hunting trips. Bob's family meant the world to him. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family especially watching his grandkids and great grandkids participate in activities.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and brother Richard. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Craig, wife Linda, David, wife Tracy, and son Tracy, wife Jennifer, grandchildren Michael, Jeffrey, Lacy and Anthony, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 bonus grandchildren and 6 bonus great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
