Shirley Davis Obituary

Shirley Ann Davis of Summerlin, Nevada passed away on July 29, 2023 at home with her family. She is survived by her partner of 36 years, Orvin Lundt of Summerlin NV/Longview WA, her daughter Kiman Lucas of Seattle, WA, her son Ronald Lucas (Natasha) of Rainier, OR, her grandchildren Pepper, Julia and Killian and her great grandson Liam. She is also survived by her brother Jackie Davis and sister Patsy Shipp.

Shirley was a sassy, vibrant woman with a wicked sense of humor. She was born in Socorro, New Mexico and raised in South Carolina and New Mexico. She was previously married for 23 years to Robert Lucas and raised her children with him in Longview, Portland and Rainier, Oregon. In Rainier, she was a founding member of the Stitch and Bitch Club (which was, she happily admitted, really more of an excuse to hang out with friends). She had a great sense of style and once had a shop called Inbo which featured Scandinavian designs.

She received her FAA pilots license and enjoyed flying. She also received her real estate license. She went back to college after raising her children and graduated with a BS in 1982. She then worked as a sales executive for a variety of companies before becoming one of the leading women executives for a Fortune 500 company. She moved to the Las Vegas area 25 years ago to enjoy the sun, but she and Orvin came back to the Longview area most summers.

She loved to travel, dance, and have dinner parties with her friends and family. She is also known for her fabulous collection of nude sculptures and modern art.

She was a sweet lady.

Shirley was one of the kindest, most compassionate people I've ever known; Shirley and Bob lived just around the corner when we all lived in Tigard and it was because of my connection with Shirley that we ended up in Rainier, where she and Bob became our neighbors. She was "sharp as a tack" and had a great sense of humor. Our daughters loved Shirley, too, and she was the mother in our neighborhood that they would go to if they had a problem to discuss. Our husbands were good friends and because of Bob that my husband became a judge. My condolences to Kim and Ron. They were so very fortunate to have Shirley as their mother.
