Aaron Shapiro Obituary

Aaron Shapiro, 91, of 33 Kinnicutt Rd., died Saturday, Sept. 13th, in the Jewish Healthcare Center. His beloved wife of 62 years, Ruth (Goldberg) Shapiro died March 10th of this year.

He leaves two daughters, Judy wife of William Flynn of Worcester and Nancy Gutfarb of Norfolk, MA; four grandchildren, William Samuel Gutfarb, Joanna Lee Gutfarb, Sarah Anne Flynn and Elaine Shapiro Flynn and a nephew Dr. Richard Seder. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Sidney and Harold Shapiro and his two sisters, Sarah Seder and Anne Mencow.

He was born in Worcester, a son of Joseph and Leah (Cohen) Shapiro and graduated Commerce High School. Aaron was a proud Army Air Corp veteran of WWII and served as a Tech SGT with a bomber group in New Guinea and the Philippines and earned nine Battle Stars. Aaron was a salesman and a former owner of Narcus Bros. Office Supply Co. for many years. He and his wife then owned and operated her family's business BS & G Mfg. Co. and only retired four years ago. Aaron was an avid Red Sox fan who loved his family, golf and living life to the fullest. He was a member of Temple Emanuel and its Brotherhood and was a member of the Probus Club.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM, TOMORROW, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH in Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main St. Burial will be in B'Nai Brith Cemetery. Memorial observance will be held through Friday afternoon at his residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
